 On August 4 morning, unknown persons commenced fire in the territory of Surb Karapet Armenian Church in Istanbul. According to sources in Istanbul, the unknown targeted at the father superior's house situated in the church yard. Fortunately, there was nobody home at that moment, otherwise the assault could have unpredictable consequences, reports Yerkramas, the newspaper of Armenians of Russia. |

| Armenian Language and Literature department to open in Nevshehir University, Turkey (General) |

 The Turkish High Certifying Commission granted permission to the university of Nevshehir city to open the Armenian Language and Literature Department after coordinating it with the Turkish Foreign Ministry. The permission was granted at the appeal by professor Metin Hulagu, the dean of the Literature faculty of this university. |
